Pro Server

Some features of the Sambar Server require a "Pro" license key. The present list of Pro features include:

A Sambar Server Pro license can be purchased from the System Administrator forms. There is no physical delivery of product. You will receive a license key at the end of the purchase process to enable pro features in your current server. As of May 1, 2002, the license key is good for all 5.1 and later releases and will be good for all Sambar Server 6.X releases; license purchased prior to May 1, 2002 are only valid for 4.X and 5.X release cycles. (Note: The license mail message you recieve from www.regnow.com will indicate it is for the 5.2 server.)

The System Administrator forms will direct you to www.regnow.com where the license key can be purchased and installed (an entry in the config.ini file). Presently, there are no distributors for the Sambar Server.

The license key goes in the [common] section of the config.ini file. The entry should appear as:

Licensee = <Regname>
License = <Regcode>

Evaluation License

From the Sambar Server Version 5.2 Beta 4 release on, a demo license is available for evaluating the Pro features. Please use this feature to fully evaluate the Sambar Server Pro functionality before purchasing a license. Sambar Technologies wishes all customers to be 100% satisfied that the server meets their needs and expections prior to any purchase. You can enable the evaluation license by entering the following license:

Licensee = Demo
License = Demo

The demo evaluation license will only permit the server to function between 9AM and 5PM in your local time zone. The server will automatically shut itself down if run outside this time period.
